October 6, 2012 – Concerto of organ and voice – VI Festival

The sixth edition of the International Organ Festival 2012 Alcala Cathedral continues its journey with great public acceptance and support of the two concerts held to date.

If the first opening concert with the participation of Norway was attended by a large audience, among whom was D. Bishop Juan Antonio Reig Pla of Alcala, the second concert with the participation of Russia has exceeded expectations of the organizers regarding public attendance and interest aroused.
The organist of the Cathedral-Magistral Liudmila Matsyura and opera singer, mezzo-soprano Elena Abdrazakova, delighted the audience by offering a beautiful and varied concert of organ and voice in representing Russia – his homeland.
Notably, among those attending the concert that filled the Cathedral-Magistral, was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in Spain D. Yuri P. Korchagin accompanying by various personalities of the diplomatic corps in Spain, family, friends and responsible Russian Centre of Science and Culture. They moved to the Cathedral- Magistral for to see in detail the concert, as usual, was screened with several HD cameras on a great screen installed at the altar.

The first part of the concert was an organ recital by the international concert organist Liudmila Matsyura, tiutlare of the temple, who offered a very wide and varied program, beginning with the brilliant interpratation of the Toccata of Ch.M.Widor, quickly capturing the audience with her deep understanding of the work of J.S. Bach – Passacaglia and fugue in C-minor, one of the most complex and strong parts of the organ repertoire and continued to delight audiences with “Moonlight” from L.Vierne. Not missing in the program joyfull and funny Voluntary of J.Stanley and, of course, foregraund the interesting and emosionante interpretation of the Danse Macabre of C.Sait-Saens with which the participants could discover the palette of sounds and voices of a full symphony orchestra, played only with the organ of the Cathedral-Magistral in the hands of this virtuous organist.

In the second part of the mezzo-soprano Elena joined Abdrazakova that with his deep and expressive voice, with great delicacy, accompanied on the organ by Liudmila, performed several arias and songs of Giordani, Pergolesi, Marcello, emphasizing with the exciting and beautiful interpretation of the Agnus Dei of G. Bizet.
After the concert the prolonged applause from an audience stood performers got the start Ave Maria of V.Vavilov , as ultimate and sublime touch like bis, put a nice “snap” to this wonderful evening.

Therefore rang again the organ sounds “to the glory of God and the joy of the audience.”

The next meeting will be on Saturday October 13th at 20:45 h. involving the organist Mario Duella to represent Italy in this sixth edition of the International Festival 2012.
Tickets can be withdrawn at the Cathedral of Alcalá in advance or on the day of the concert, 15 minutes before the start.
