MARIO DUELLA – ITALY

The 2012 edition of the VI International Organ Festival “Cathedral of Alcalá” Ecuador’s last concert series, continues its journey with great acceptance and attendance.

On Saturday October 13th the participating country was Italy with an organ concert offered by veteran and renowned organist Mario Duella. The organ of the Magistral ring this time exclusively at the hands of this experienced and prominent organist, whose concert career has developed throughout many years, having recorded several LPs and CDs over a thousand concerts offered around the world.
The audience could enjoy the works selected and performed by the musician. So, in a varied program sounded in the works of Georg Blancafort Organ W. DRUCKENMÜLLER, G. Bohm J.S.BACH, A. GUILMANT, M. E. BOSSI, and one could not forget, also a piece of John STANLEY whose memory is dedicated to this sixth edition of the Festival, to be held this year on the third anniversary of the birth of this great English composer.

Finished his performance, Duella, was awarded a standing ovation from an audience that got tear as a “bis” interpretation of a cheerful and festive piece C. LANG in which he used the magna trumpet of the Cathedral-Magistral organ. He concluded his recital Mario Duella, but not before losing the organ to greet the audience, dedicating a special greeting to the bishop of our diocese D. Juan Antonio Reig Pla who was in the audience, despite being fresh from his trip to Rome where he participated in the proclamation of St. John of Avila Doctor of the Church in a ceremony presided over by His Holiness the Pope.

As in all Festival concerts attendees could enjoy the giant screen projection with several cameras HD the performance of the interpreter, made by Caye CL-vídeos, by Caye CL-vídeos, which makes it possible to follow the concerts of the Festival, putting the video on You Tube.
